I see health and disease as a condition of both body and mind

Before I was an acupuncturist I studied art history but before then and here now, I am forever a student of life and people.

I received a bachelors from UCLA in Art History, History and worked in the performing and visual arts in Los Angeles. An itch to learn and to help others led me back to school to learn the human body. Chinese medicine seemed the most akin to what was familiar – the study of art (humans) and its history.

I have been in private practice since 2004 and have helped patients with:

Allergies, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Fertility, Pregnancy and Postpartum, Uterine Fibroids, Pain, Trauma, Digestive Problems, Tinnitus, Hormonal Imbalance, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, Alopecia, Sports Injuries, Facial Rejuvenation, Scars, Weight loss, Detox

While in private practice, I became interested in the model of community acupuncture as new way to use acupuncture, especially in our ever-changing healthcare system.  In 2014, I began to offer group acupuncture sessions at a local acupuncture clinic in San Mateo.  I was especially amazed at the collective energy and calm that happens when strangers come together to heal. I witnessed kindness, generosity, and respect in a nonverbal exchange between strangers and it reminded me of the intrinsic potential for good inside us; especially when people come together to heal in one shared space.

I became an Acupuncture Detox Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). NADA is a standardized auricular acupuncture protocol for behavioral health, including addictions, mental health, and disaster & emotional traumas and has been used successfully in US treatment centers since 1974.  In my training, I practiced in a PTSD clinic for veterans, a women’s shelter, and drug court groups.

Since 2018 I created, and currently lead a group Acupuncture and Meditation class at Red Diamond Yoga where I use auricular acupuncture (NADA ear acupuncture) and guided meditations on Sunday evenings.
